Frequently Asked Questions
The taste of salak is unique and often described as a combination of sweet and tangy flavors, similar to a mix of pineapple, apple, and banana. Its texture is crisp and juicy, comparable to a fresh apple or water chestnut.
To peel a salak, pinch and break the tip of the scaly skin, then peel it back. The fruit consists of two or three lobes, or cloves. A thin, papery skin around the cloves should be removed before eating. Be careful of the hard, inedible seed inside each clove.
Our standard MOQ for fresh salak is a 20-foot or 40-foot refrigerated (reefer) container. This ensures the most stable temperature and cost-effective shipping for fresh produce. Contact us for specific details.
